Happy 50th birthday to….us! #OnThisDay in 1968 our building was officially opened. We marked the anniversary by welcoming more than 8,000 people to our Open Day, where they joined with Director-General Marie-Louise Ayres and ambassador, Kaz Cooke in the birthday celebrations.

#Onthisday in 1808, NSW governor, Admiral William Bligh was arrested by the NSW Corps (nicknamed the ‘Rum Corps’) following his efforts to reign them in and shut down the rum trade. It’s the only time in Australian history that a government was overthrown by a military coup.
