CPC isn’t only party on the right. Some CPC MPs have come to see that Carney is closer to historical PC values and policies than CPC. Only a matter of time before CPC supporters follow suit. Carney and Bernier are squeezing PP from both sides. He’s going to pop like a pimple.

Further on this, there wasn’t a big movement of CPC voters to the LPC. The NDP collapsed along with the lower ranked parties. Red Tories would have been LPC-CPC switchers who voted LPC. That’s was a small group and they didn’t decide the outcome.

I’ll say it again. You can find Red Tories in history, theory, and data, just not at the ballot box. Saying Carney hit the mythical Laurentian sweet spot last April is to miss what actually happened.
