Bullshit. Raising interest rates have led to overall decline in many freelance jobs – even those unaffected by GPT. No proof that this was actually caused by AI. Correlation ≠ causation
NEW: Generative AI is already taking white collar jobs An ingenious study by @xianghui90 @oren_reshef @Zhou_Yu_AI looked at what happened on a huge online freelancing platform after ChatGPT launched last year. The answer? Freelancers got fewer jobs, and earned much less

This. Also, if Zuck clones Twitter and gets away with it. What do you expect as indie founder? It’s kinda naive to think no one opportunistic enough will copy your product to give it a shot of their own.
Noob mistake #1 when your site gets cloned: - get triggered - tweet about it - mention their website - mention the founder You just gave them free exposure, clicks and paid customers Now they won, you lost Instead: ignore

Did apple just lowkey launch a v1 brain-machine-interface into the Vision Pro? One of their ex designers just tweeted this: “One of the coolest results involved predicting a user was going to click on something before they actually did. That was a ton of work and something

Time will tell whether there is room for “traditional” apps and AI to co-exist when AI can basically do all the things our current SaaS apps do.

3 days later. I now have working prototype running for Sitestage’s promo videos using Canvas API. It’s snappy AF, and since most browsers support rendering canvas to video file, exports are easy too. No need to set up complex Node server for video encoding. Double win! 💯
I’ve created a web player for Sitestage promos. It animates divs and a moving cursor. But noticed FPS highly varies with different hardware. 🤔 Also, web player is performing horribly in Puppeteer when recording screen. I guess I’ll have to rebuild the thing with canvas API. 😅

As indie founder, you often think: “If I only had the resources to build feature X” But lately, I’m starting to think many of these complex features actually become doable as solo dev… thanks to AI.

Hah, turns out Puppeteer page class doesn't even have a video() method. GPT just imagined it to be there. Fair enough! Will have to figure that one out myself.

Planned to work on Sitestage video exports today. Figured I should use Puppeteer to record page into a video. Lots of open questions. But then I realised figuring it all out yourself is so 2022. So I asked ChatGPT instead. Almost done!

✨ Added lots of product demos to the Sitestage site today. Feels good to see this stuff come alive. Site's still WIP - obviously. Will share a link soon.

Dutch newspaper @volkskrant wrote about a website I created to find and compare supermarket promotions. The site was created in a single weekend. Vue + Nuxt 3 with Firebase and Google cloud functions that run every morning to scrape new promotions. https://t.co/XE2QhN1WfL

To dos for Sitestage Alpha release: - Building video exporter to let users download an .mp4 of their Stage - Create content for landing page - Smoothen transitions. Stages still feel a bit rough Time spent on this project since first commit: ~96 hrs (started 12 weeks ago) 😁

Working on 'Interactive Mode' – users can play with your promo by clicking hotspots. And every step can be captioned! BTW, this is the first time I'm dogfooding Sitestage. This video was created in a few clicks using Sitestage! (Still jagged around the edges, but getting there)

🎮 Interactive mode: Let users play with your demo at their own pace! 💬 Captions: Add automatic captions that are pre-filled based on buttons you've clicked and text you've typed. 🧑🏼💻 Embed your demo to your landing page for an instant (interactive) product demo. No uploads!

Features: 🔎 Zooms the window into focus area and follows the mouse cursor. 🌄 Add a beautiful background/gradient. There's also dynamic mode that auto colors the background – a bit like those Ambilight TVs! 🖼 Adjust padding and frame your content (such as a browser URL bar)

No more messing around with screen recorders. No more hours of video editing. I’ve built Sitestage because I was sick of spending hours to create content that looks professional enough to showcase my new product – only to recreate all of it whenever I released an update.

How it works: Go to your site and hit Record. Sitestage captures all clicks, scrolls, keystrokes and other interactions, and edits it into a beautiful video with *customisable* backgrounds, transitions, zooms and more!
