Reliable & affordable clean electricity from small nuclear located in Ireland for prosperity and more sustainable use of land & materials - better for everyone

Ireland is turning our excellent wind resource into a liability by pretending it can power our society This prevents us adding real solutions like nuclear, leading to less industry, higher bills, fuel poverty and energy scarcity. While missing emissions targets Choose nuclear.

A valuable flute went missing yesterday from the owner's bike on the way to a lunchtime session in Cassidy's in Camden St. It has huge sentimental value and a reward has been offered. If anyone sees it, please send a DM. RTs appreciated.

The Czech Republic has plans to build up to 3 GW of nuclear capacity from 470 MW Rolls Royce "SMRs", in addition to large reactors. Article link in reply. According to Rolls Royce: "Ninety percent of the SMR - measuring about 16 metres by 4 metres - will be built in factory

What are we at? Let's build 2 Small Modular Reactor #SMR if we are serious about dealing with energy costs. #nuclearenergy

Why is the UK planning to invest in SMRs? 1) SMR's will drive down household bills 2) Potential benefits for jobs and growth 3) Building just 12 SMRs could create up to 2,500 jobs 4) 12 SMRs would generate enough power for up to 1.5m homes @DarraghOBrienTD

Sweden building nuclear capacity of 1500mw via 5 SMRs because: "...a growing share of weather-dependent renewables has led to price volatility, imbalances and a lack of available grid capacity." This is exactly what Ireland now has and we have no plan to fix it.
Swedish state-owned utility Vattenfall has narrowed its choice for new nuclear plants to the BWRX-300 or Rolls Royce SMRs. They've decided not to build large reactors. They aim to have new reactors in operation by the mid 2030s. The company's first new nuclear construction

❓ You asked, we listened! Up first: Why do we need nuclear energy if renewables are an option? Here’s what you need to know about how nuclear fills the gap. #Atoms4Climate #JustAsk

Ireland next? Condoms banned in Ireland 50 years ago were imported from UK for those that wanted to use them Now, we ban nuclear, but all Irish electricity users must use electricity generated by nuclear in UK or France Nuclear - the new Irish condoms! Hypocrisy, or what?
Nuclear bans are being lifted around the world. The day of banning clean energy sources because the Simpsons says it's scary is coming to an end. Next, Australia 🇦🇺 ✍️ Sign to Australia's nuclear ban: https://t.co/jNRyw6uwZt

The big question is what this "other" 99% should be? Its a big question only @18for0 is asking.

No matter how much onshore / offshore wind & solar PV is installed, our economy and sustainability would benefit hugely from getting 20% or more of our electricity from modern nuclear energy located in Ireland Irish nuclear is in the room; it's time to allow it onto the table
2nd day in a row of a 1% wind minimum coinciding with 0% solar minimum. We could: 1. Deploy synchronous condensers (giant flywheels) 2. Deploy grid stabilisation inverters with li-ion batteries 3. Carry out grid capacity upgrades (Eirgrid's multi €billion NDP plam) 4. Lay new

We need to assess the potential of nuclear energy to reduce the cost of Ireland's energy transition to net zero. The National Economic and Social Councils report states that, "paying for Ireland’s transition to clean energy will ultimately fall to consumers". @ColinGleesonIT

This is a brilliant resource on everything to do with nuclear energy Informative, honest, comprehensive, useful and easy to follow
Reactor discussions are most productive when informed by a clear understanding of the reactors involved. Therefore, I propose we begin using standardized Nuclear Reactor Consumer Labels to display key information. Nutrition facts on cereal boxes and the Broadband Label Order

“A future without nuclear is a future where we fail.” Cristina Talacko spent years fighting for climate solutions powered by renewables until the numbers stopped adding up. As emissions rose and energy insecurity grew, she set out to learn the truth about nuclear energy.
