People really don’t like Property Tax because it is a broad tax. People only rail against tax they have to pay, yet they think it’s fine that the marginal rate of tax at €50k is 48% and goes to 52% at €70k. This is a tax on initiative, ambition and penalises success.

A double tax hike for Dublin families! This is outrageous! Only two weeks ago, the government passed legislation to increase the Local Property Tax. Tonight, FF, FG, Labour and Green Party Councillors who control Dublin City Council will seek to hike it up again by the maximum.

Per IPSOS/Irish Times - Half the population think we should not pass the Occupied Territories Bill or need to address the consequences before passing it vs one third want it passed and 17% don’t know. We need to halt this bill until we know a LOT more. @fiannafailparty @FineGael

Actually we don’t, the interconnector is not built. We do import nuclear power from the UK. But of course, we won’t be a grown up country and build any nuclear capacity of our own.

A Goldman Sachs report predicts that world nuclear capacity will increase by 200 GW by 2040, and that nuclear's share of world power will increase from 9% to 12%. Article link in reply. While the report predicts significant nuclear growth, it is somewhat disappointing, relative

I hope that Ireland will reconsider their efforts to economically isolate Israel, as they are in a fight for their very existence. I do not believe these efforts would be well received in the United States and they certainly would not go unnoticed.

Well done to @Alanshatter on @rtenews for stating clearly why the Occupied Territories Bill is deeply flawed. If we pass this bill, it will be held against Ireland for decades to come in the same way as Dev’s visit to the German Ambassador on Hitler’s death in 1945.
