The most optimistic and heartwarming finding I had in my academic career. A fantastic study led by Dr @AtheerMassarwe showing we provide empathy and compassion even to out-grop members in times of extreme tension - Jews and Arabs living in Israel, 3 months post Oct 7. @UofHaifa
Even in times of deep conflict, people can still choose empathy. Our new study shows that Jews and Arabs offered emotional support to one another after the war that began on Oct 7 โ a powerful reminder: we havenโt forgotten how to be human.
