I'm not sure the suggestion, that Pope Francis equated the Church in the US with inane politics and Twitter squabbles and so decided to "not give a damn" about the 70 million Catholics who live here, is quite as edifying as Fr. Zipple means it to be.
Imagine being a pope & having to deal w the US church demanding constantly that its inane politics & Twitter squabbles are all that matter. Makes you appreciate Francis’ attitude of just not giving a damn what the US church thought.
