Last time we saw such collusion/ignorance was in the @salesforce hackathon @TechCrunch even reported it. Now @boltdotnew hackathon seems no different. Many out of 130k participants feel scammed, I personally got scammed $45. Read this thread for how unfair this hackathon was.

Awarding non-functional projects isn’t just unfair, it robs real opportunities from those who worked hard. @EricSimons, as CEO you mocked the community with tweet instead of addressing concerns. That’s not the leadership Bolt might need in tough time. Emotion driven, no rational.

@stackblitz @boltdotnew @EricSimons raised funds for this hackathon to support real builders. But by rewarding fake or non-working projects, you killed trust. These prizes were meant for those who actually built something. This hurts the community and your own credibility.

6. Why silence critics asking fair questions? Basic eligibility rules were broken. Projects filled with mock data, winning because of edited videos. Is @boltdotnew a hackathon or a video contest? My Discord access was removed, Reddit posts deleted.

5. One of the Judging criteria was “uniqueness.” But @gregisenberg, on livestream, literally said he liked the #2 winner because it was similar to existing products like CalAI. So… is uniqueness even a real metric, or just talk?.

4. Almost all main prizes went to people from the US/UK/Canada, especially 5 cities. @gregisenberg, and CallVance project dev lives around 30 mins far. It was meant to be a global hackathon—how are most winners from cities where judges live? Explain the bias.

3. The #10 project hadn’t submitted url. Even the demo video hid the browser bar intentionally, so no one could see what url is. If the link wasn’t public, how was it judged? Did someone know her personally and get the link directly? That is what rigging looks like. Explain how?.

Where’s the #1 project of hackathon?.Or is this its new UI?.@sergedottech, the king has fallen, you’re the new one. Your project’s solid; you deserved it!.@boltdotnew likely had him take it down to hide they gave 1st prize to a non-working error prone dashboard project. Why hide?

If you joined the hackathon and felt the winners were picked recklessly, do two things:. 1. Tweet your criticism if it felt unfair.2. Share your project’s video or URL with that tweet, let others + @boltdotnew see your hard work of 1 month. Also, repost this to reach more!

@boltdotnew @EricSimons Trust, once broken, is best repaired immediately through symbolic action. Don’t assume a second hackathon will fix it, most people won’t stick around long. Things move fast when not handled right. Keep old bridges intact as you build new ones. Do the right thing now!.

@boltdotnew @EricSimons you're now in a rare position to lead by example. Step out of denial & make it right, return the judgments. Standing firm in denial only harms both Bolt and the builder community. Think calmly, the hackathon outcome is not reflecting Bolt true potentials. You know it!.
