Not really. If a song sells 10m the label only pays a mechanical royalty of 0.09 cents for every download/physical sale to the songwriters . Unless writers have "master points" then they don't get royalties from hat copyright-they get performance royalties from ASCAP, bmi etc.
@Niell_Standard I don't know if I was clear but take my analogy:a song sells 10m composition ©️ takes 5m while sound recording ©️ takes 5m. To the writers the 5m is a 100% to be shared depending on their % cut. The artist/recordLabel/producer shares the other 5m as 100% depending on agreed cuts.
