Large parts of the UK were abandoned when our industrial base disappeared. For many, industry was a locus of pride and identity. Successive Govts have not answered the question of what will replace it. We need a new digital industrial economy to fill the vacuum.

The reason people can't get a GP appointment or a job, why their local High St is full of shuttered shops isn't migration. It's policy. There must be accountability for the hateful acts committed this week, and in the longer term for the policy of division that brought us here.
