So @SfNtweets, are we related? Because you've got some Elsevier DNA in your operation. Hopefully you're following our lead & increase your fees regularly. Oh you do? Great! Welcome to the (Gentleman's) club

I'll tell you what it could fund: 160 NeuroImage papers. Or 143 in Human Brain Mapping but you get more bang for your buck with us
@threadreaderapp @perpl_lab @jdavidjentsch I'm having a hard time understanding this figure. Is there a better explanation than "that's what CEOs are paid"? Can you convince me that no one who would accept a salary of, say, $200,000 could do a fine job directing SfN? Imagine what the delta of $551,996 could fund.

It's been several months since the Big Resignation and we see that Wiley's Human Brain Mapping is humming along with its $3,850 APC. What's your memory-erasing secret HBM?? Share it with your buddy over here

Okay, so we use free labor with 40% profit, dismiss the scientific community, and take as much of your funding as we can, but at least we're not the tenured faculty at @ColumbiaPSYC - they're on a different level
Today I learned that @Columbia will not be promoting me or putting me up for tenure. I have multiple active grants (including an R01 and a CAREER award) plenty of publications, a teaching award, and a history of DEI advocacy. Open to all opportunities in and out of academia.

Everyone: “I’m so excited about @ImagingNeurosci, sign me up as a reviewer when it launches!” Everyone I ask to review for the journal now that it has actually launched:

We understand that $3,400 can seem like a lot. But consider that it's just the equivalent of 1,307 coffees from your local coffee shop

We are so proud to be providing resources for nurses. And our journals have so many valuable discoveries that are crucial for patient health. How valuable? $3,400 of value. Such a bargain
To mark International Nurses Day, Elsevier Health is proud to launch our new ‘Resource for Nurses’ page, bringing together insights and videos that support self-care, role recognition and professional development. Click here: https://t.co/9Y8Lyy0r97

We are very grateful for our talented interim team. Being despised by your peers is a small price to pay when you get 10% off Elsevier access fees
@NeuroImage_EiC The interim editors have been assigned: https://t.co/1T8mEh6oCN. All seem to be already working for an elsevier journal.

Our editorial positions now come with free absolution by a genuine Catholic priest. We don't pay him but he does get 10% off our access fees

We would like to remind the 870 reviewers that they not in an exclusive relationship
It was amazing to see the massive support this week for this big change - thank you. And huge thank you to the 870 people who already signed up to review for Imaging Neuroscience! Can we make it a thousand? :-)

We applaud @OHBM and @wileyinresearch for sticking to their guns with their (higher) $3,850 APC

We know this was 5 years ago, but if you were one of the 98 who voted 'NeuroImage', we now consider this binding and really, really need you to submit and cough-up
Hypothetically speaking, if the whole editorial board of NeuroImage quit working for Elsevier and started a new open access journal (so without Impact Factor for at least 3 years) published/managed by OHBM, would you submit your papers to:
