I think NG4 will go down in history like DMC5 for being one of the best action games ever
I was worried about what kind of experience Ninja Gaiden 4 would be with Ryu becoming a side character and Yakumo taking the front lines, but it ended up being an amazing experience. It still doesn't top old NG games, but it doesn't need to to be a great game. Easily GOTY.

Understanding a games mechanics is not “player expression” people think that the old NG games were solved in 1 week lol. No this shit took years for the dust to settle and the design to make sense and people still set new records and achievements in the old games to this day.
This is such a great example of the problem with the “player expression” outlook on game design. If you were wondering why criticism of NG4 is being met with “skill issue” - this is why. The assumption here is that it’s up the player to make the game good, not the designers. So

The biggest disappointment in Ninja Gaiden 4 and perhaps my main complaint Is the DARK DRAGON BLADE I was so happy when Yakumo got it...but its just a stolen moveset MAN FUCK THIS BLADE
