In this analysis of Colorado birth certificate records, Hwang et al demonstrate that Colorado birthing individuals experienced lower adjusted odds of preterm birth after issuance of COVID-19 “stay-at-home” orders. @NeoAndMarathons @coloradoneo https://t.co/MJH0UlqWiW

Health and well being are largely determined by race, ethnicity, income, immigration status, and local neighborhood. The effects are pronounced for infants in NICU care. Health equity requires our follow through. #neoEBM

A federal rule released last night rolls back protections for transgender people and sets a dangerous precedent that could jeopardize children's health in other ways, all in the midst of a global pandemic. We oppose the rule. Pediatricians care for all children.

Black infants receive care in lower quality NICUs. With long-term implications, we need to follow-through in the community (housing, food insecurity, child care), among factors like segregation, insurance coverage, hospital financing, etc. @JAMAPediatrics

My first tweet! Something to get me fired up on a Tuesday morning. TWICE as many deaths in home births. @NPR, if it's not the safest option for baby, then it's not a safe option. https://t.co/whgpCNWd20

A tiny fraction of American women choose home birth, but that number is inching up. And in some social circles it's downright trendy. One pregnant woman investigates the pros and cons.
