In case anyone's wondering, sadly you can't use a PowerPC Mac to set up an Apple Silicon Mac through a FireWire to Thunderbolt cable using Migration Assistant. However, Finder can still access the PowerBook and you can manually copy files across. The CD drive works too.

This is why I still use an old iPod. I tried dragging-dropping offline .mp3s to my iPhone using the Music app and it hard-crashed macOS so badly I had to force-restart. After restarting, I tried again and it proceeded to corrupt my entire 100+GB library and render it unreadable.

Managed to find an iPad 3rd gen that was never updated past iOS 5. Back in the day the iPad 3rd gen was the first iPad I bought with my own paycheck but after a few updates it became difficult to use. It's nice to be able to revisit this device back on its original OS.
