Today we remember the 22 lives lost in the Manchester Arena attack on 22 May 2017, and all those affected by it. Manchester will never forget. 🐝

A minute's silence will be observed at Victoria station at 12 noon and 10.31pm today to mark the eighth anniversary of Manchester Arena attack.

The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Carmine Grimshaw, has shared his thoughts on the eighth anniversary of the 22 May 2017 terror attack:

The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Leader of the Council and Chief Executive have laid flowers at the Glade of Light memorial this afternoon in memory of all those killed, injured or affected by the attack on this day in 2017.

Eight years ago today at 10.31pm, an act of terror tragically took twenty-two lives and left many more with life-changing injuries. We pause to honour their memory, to stand with the survivors, and to hold close all those affected. Manchester will never forget. 🐝

We know every day is difficult for all those whose lives changed forever eight years ago - but this one particularly so. Today we remember, send our love to you all and recommit our unending support.

This by ⁦@lehenner⁩ may well be my book of the year. It starts in a whimsical almost ‘rom com’ tone but quickly sheds light on big life lessons by blending humour and drama. The structure moves the present narrative whilst filling in the back story and ends just right.

Today we look back and remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's life and service to our country. The Queen represented duty and courage, as well as warmth and compassion. My prayers today are with The King, the Royal Family and all those who loved The Queen.
