We did it! 5 days of building, 59,956 atoms, 118,724 bonds, 329 kg. 24 layers, bottom edge 3.69 m, top edge 2.31 m, height 1.11 m. Ladies & Gentlemen, a new world record! A *huge* thank you to everyone who helped us get there! #BigDiamond #BraggYourPattern #IUCr2023

Such an awesome way to start to the week - 13.2 kW solar panels installed, 12.8 kWh of battery storage and an electric vehicle in the driveway :). Now to see how much we really need from the grid?

What a way to end the year! 🙌 A solar powered car designed and built by UNSW students has set a world record by travelling 1000km on a single charge in under 12 hours. ☀️🏎️ Sunswift 7 is the latest solar-powered car from UNSW, with the first being built in 1996.

💬 "The absence of capacity fading over 400 cycles clearly indicates the superior performance of this material compared with those reported for conventional all-solid-state cells with layered materials... This finding could drastically reduce battery costs" - @neerajchemunsw.
