Supply chain attacks on developers are genuinely terrifying and far too easy to pull off. The nature of the job is executing lots of code somebody you’ve never met wrote and secured. There are serious architectural problems with how dev machines work which aren’t being addressed.
PRIVATE REPOS ARE BEING MADE PUBLIC. like the list is actively growing. this is due to the Nx supply chain attack. it feels like NO ONE is talking about this??? i've been spending the entire morning rotating private keys and securing our repos

One of the coolest things about all LLMs being trained for software development, is they’ve also become unreasonably effective web scrapers which can output structured data via a JSON prompt. They love raw/unsanitised HTML because it’s all useful structural context.

This investigation is the most exciting thing happening in JavaScript right now. Fingers crossed it can be fixed as it will completely change tRPC performance characteristics at scale.
Intersections including mapped types are lazily evaluated, but in many cases like this one, it appears they are never properly cached. Every time the type is referenced, it is re-instantiated, leading to O(3^N) scaling☠️

This has been a crazy amount of work, including upstreaming many type safety enhancements to @tan_stack query so that everybody can benefit!. Excited to see how people get on with the client!.
We just released our new TanStack Query adapter for @trpcio powered by the `queryOptions` API. Codemod available (still a bit of a WIP but works quite well) for simple migration. Read the announcement and leave your thoughts:

tRPC is looking at deprecating our @tan_stack Query Integration in favour of something simpler and more tanstack native. Come give us some feedback on the plans! (link below).

Why am I here, I’m the one tRPC guy who actively dissuades folk from combing it with Nextjs 🙈. Nextjs itself is pretty cool though.

No icon libraries even have a good save icon anymore, the “upload the cloud” icon which gets called SaveIcon is just confusing for everyone. Normalise the floppy disk again!.
