I know all our twitter reach is now limited and this thread might not reach people who matter but marketing people seriously need to stop paying money to YouTubers and Instagrammers that is what is killing the joy out of watching movies.

4) Mujhe andar ki sab baat pata hai cinephile on twitter. I mean can we just want all films to be good? Be disappointed if someone falters? Call them out when wrong? Celebrate them when they are good?. And I’m not even talking here as a filmmaker but a pure movie buff.

The key reasons for this unsaid shift and pointless hate are 1) Samosa critics who tweet anything for money (Inside reports to I saw it first types) 2) YouTubers who are hate baiters ( they will make a misleading thumbnail and heading of the video) 3) Film Pr people who pay them.

I think post 2020 there has been a big unsaid shift in cinephiles. Pre Covid, people used to be disappointed when a film that promised a lot but turned out to be a misfire. Now we have people celebrating when a film turns out to be bad. Majority cinephiles now thrives on hate.
