It's been raining here just about nonstop since the start of September. No sign of any migrants yet. To pass the time I have been sorting out my media and I came across some video clips I hadn't used. I just posted this short on my YouTube channel using a couple of clips of the

First migrant raptor this season. Bit high and distant in poor light but looks like an eastern Marsh Harrier to me.

Just a quick hello from me. Yes I am still alive and kicking approaching the 2nd anniversary of my Aortic valve replacement surgery. Since my valve replacement I find it difficult to hold my 7D2 and 400mm steady so I have been concentrating of videos and other stuff. Still love

Well it may not be the prettiest bird, but this would seem to be Rusty-tailed Flycatcher, and if so, new for Thailand.. If anyone has any experience or comments, please feel free 😁 #kraengkrachen #rustytailedflycatcher

Anyone fancy a crack at ID of this small bird sitting at the roadside in Tat Mok NP on Thursday? Some sort of Babbler perhaps? Your help as always appreciated.

Greater Flameback(F) the partner of yesterdays featured woodpecker. She was a bit shy and hard to frame. Constantly jumping around and calling to her mate, who incidentally seemed to completely ignore her! #BirdsSeenIn2024 #Thailand

Sometimes you get a little too close (image not cropped). A very confiding & kind, male, Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros). The female was nearby. #BirdsSeenIn2024 #Perak #Malaysia @Avibase @orientbirdclub @IndiAves

Sultan Tit, almost a year since @Sibe4me who was here visiting with me, spotted a small group of these birds when we were in the waterfall car park Tat Mok NP Phetchabun. Today in the same location I saw the birds again and managed a few sketchy images. This is about the best

Variable Squirrel slacking its thirst in the water pot between foraging for nesting(drey building) material in the garden. Looks like it has a large tick on the top of it's back. You can watch a short video of the animals activities on my You Tube channel.

For anyone interested: The yellow behind the bird is some fallen flowers from the Yellow Cotton Tree, Cochlospermum regium. A tree native to South America which probably arrived here(Thailand) with early Portuguese traders. Very interesting tree and popular with Thai people.

Yellow-vented Bulbul one of a pair that frequently visit the garden water source. Warm and dry here so lots of customers for fresh water. #BirdsSeenIn2024 #Thailand
