Been toying with Rivet Actors compares up against popular BaaS. However – Rivet Actors is a bit more of a "serious" tool based on arch that scaled WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Cloudflare, etc. What do you evaluate when looking at tools beyond the vanilla DB?

I published RivetKit yesterday without telling anyone (yet), but it’s already night and day for the # of people finding us and successfully integrating it. I never really appreciated how much work it takes to build a half descent DX for complex libraries until this year

Funny how npm turned in to the universal CLI manager – including for anything non-JS. Everything has an `npm i rivet-cli` or `npx rivet-cli` command now, esp in the Rust ecosystem.

Libraries (eg Better Auth) will beat SaaS (eg Auth0) due to agents. Unified logging → easier with libraries.Testing → SaaS makes TDD difficult.Protect tools → libs provide inline type errors.Speed matters for agents → SaaS adds latency.MCP for SaaS → causes context rot.
