I’m so old I remember when Lindsey Graham jumped into the Repeal & Replace train wreck in 2017 only to figure out & admit the Congressional GOP didn’t know what it was talking about on health care policy 😮

If the Affordable Care Act is so “affordable”… why is it that every time I turn around it needs to be bailed out?

As President Trump and Republicans in Congress promise further details of their health care proposals, remember that all health reform plans have trade-offs. As details get filled in, the winners and losers become clearer.

Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., tells me tonight the enhanced ACA funds should "absolutely" expire. What about the Republicans who want to cut a deal to extend the money? "There's not gonna be any deal cut," Norman says. Does Speaker Johnson share this view? "I think he does."

Looks like a biotech conference, not #MAHA. How will this help our kids get healthy school lunches? How does this help small farmers and organics? How does this prevent people dying from dangerous pesticides?😢

Is there anyone, in either party, or who lives on any planet, who supports the Dulles People Movers? I'm not sure there is a 100% issue in politics, but this one might be close.

Trump officials have a new target: the Dulles “people movers.” White House calls them “notorious,” citing accident this week. And a Trump nominee to Dulles board says he has a plan to kill the shuttles. https://t.co/veGh6LCKdt

Well-meaning negotiators on both sides of the aisle could likely agree to tweaks to ACA premium tax credits. But, trying to upend the structure during open enrollment with out-of-pocket premiums poised to more than double is like trying to retrofit a plane mid flight.

Republican Senators put a provision in the leg branch approps bill to let themselves sue for millions in taxpayer money over Jan. 6 wiretaps. If Trump’s DOJ doesn’t fight them they just get a bunch of money. Like an earmark but it goes to them personally: https://t.co/UCngPKhjyt

I'm not sure why there would be another shutdown at end of January. Some Dems have learned they are unlikely to get anything out of it & others have learned that their members will cave in the end (which means the same outcome).

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work." The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting. And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

With one vote on the ACA tax credits in December, no agreement on a plan, and no commitment from the House or Trump, there is no apparent path to extending the credits. It means the issue will prosecuted in the midterms, and it means pain for tens of millions of Americans.

And the list of nobody getting what they want out of a shutdown continues: 2013: Republicans didn’t get Obamacare repeal 2018: Dems didn’t get protection for DACA recipients 2018-19: Trump didn’t get border wall money 2025: Dems didn’t get enhanced ACA subsidy extension.
