I have taught for 25 years. I love it. But the last few years especially have been increasingly demanding and we have been squeezed dry. Please stand with teachers to better education for all kids.

Are you wondering why the lemon? 🍋👊🏼. NB Teachers have had enough of being squeezed to the last drop! Education is an investment NOT an expense! . This gov’t loves to pick a fight with working people, we didn’t start it but we care too much about public ed to be pushed around.

👇 Teachers, in order to set their students (& themselves) up for success, majorly donate days of unpaid time to prepping their environment. If your child comes home stating they had a great first day, it is on the volunteer hours that their teacher has put in. #TheMoreYouKnow.
Someone (not in education) was surprised to hear that teachers have to set up their own classrooms. She thought we had someone to do that for us and we just walk in the first day and start teaching. I had to explain it takes days of prep + physical labor. And we don’t get paid.

Seriously though! These are my (now disabled) alarms that go off Mon-Fri, Sept-June. I’d never be able to transition on time without them! 😵💫.The saddest day of the year is when they all get turned back on … 💔
