I mourn for the children. Ukrainian children. Haitian children. Yemen children. American children. Tigrayan children. Children throughout the world who are suffering the perils of imperialism, poverty, militarism, racism, genocide and other human-made disasters.
As mothers and children in Ukraine are fleeing to safety, men have been ordered to stay back and fight against Russian aggression. When asked about what was happening, this little boy choked back tears, saying, "We left dad in Kyiv."
