Did you know every child in single-use nappies uses about half a tree's worth of paper? 🌳🪚😲 We need to switch to systems and products that prioritise reuse and #MakeThrowAwayGoAway!
Every year, three billion trees are cut down for paper packaging! 📢 Join people from all over the #EU calling on decision-makers to protect forests by promoting reuse and throwing single-use in the bin! #MakeThrowAwayGoAway #PPWR #WeChooseReuse #packaging #reuse

Yuck! Did you know that dirty nappies are one of the most common items to contaminate recycling? Pretty gross for recycling workers & even worse for our planet, as contaminated loads get burnt/landfilled. Time to go reusable! #reusablerevolution

Hear hear @natalieben! Govt agrees: 🌍Reusable nappies have a lower carbon footprint & use 98% fewer raw materials 🗑️UK throws away 3.6 billion single-use nappies every year But then says they have no plans to take action! 🤦♀️ Sign the petition:
Government conclusions from a study of resuable versus single-use nappies suit entrenched commercial interests, and defy logic. 10 million single-use nappies in landfill or incineration every day! #ClimateEmergency #PlasticPollution

Lord Benyon's comments at @DefraGovUK Oral Questions this week are a case in point. We throw away 3.6 billion nappies per year, contributing to waste, climate change, & plastic pollution. But govt has "no plans" to tackle nappy waste! Sign the petition!
It has been a privilege to have been able to make a difference to a cause I have been committed to for as long as I remember. But this govt’s apathy in the face of the greatest challenge we face makes continuing in my role untenable. Reluctantly I am therefore stepping down

Exactly. Absolutely shocking answers by Lord Benyon for @DefraGovUK in House of Lords this week. Reducing nappy waste supports legally-binding targets on waste & climate change. Govt have already taken action on less problematic items. Sign the petition!
Reusable nappies much better for the environment so why isn't the Govt doing more to encourage them asks @natalieben? The Defra Minister says not much difference in env impact. Which is not what the recent Defra report said ...?

Well done to all the babies (and their families) protesting against our throwaway culture & calling for more government support for reusable nappies. We need a strategy to reduce nappy waste. “Our future is not disposable” “Single use sucks” Petition: https://t.co/BD2PCHeeO8

Single-use diapers make up HALF of all plastic waste in one of the world's most polluted rivers. This #ReusableNappyWeek we’re highlighting our work to radically reduce the use of single-use diapers across the Brantas region in Indonesia.

Reusable Nappy Week is back, kicking off on Monday 24 April until 30 April. I have tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament to celebrate and promote #ReusableNappyWeek 2023. 👶 Maybe you’ve made the switch or want to try cloth nappies? Get involved at https://t.co/RGBMgpc5tx
Single use nappies are expensive and unaffordable for many families. The UK throws away nearly 3 billion disposable nappies a year, sent to incineration or landfill where they can take more than 300 years to break down. Tomorrow is the start of #ReusableNappyWeek 2023 🧵 ♻️👶

We're quoted here re new @DefraGovUK research which found using reusable nappies has a lower carbon footprint than disposables. Govt now needs a plan to help parents move to reusables to: ✅Reduce CO2 emissions ✅Reduce plastic waste ✅Save parents money https://t.co/dWDVvUPJQ0

Congrats to @PutneyFleur - the govt have backed her campaign & will be banning plastic in wet wipes 👏🏽 Now let's move to reusables! 🗑️Saves around 25,000 single-use wipes from becoming rubbish 💰Saves parents £600 per year 👶🏾No chemical nasties so better for babies
