Reno City Councilmember Naomi Duerr held a Ward 2 Council Connect at Swill Coffee with residents to hear about their concerns. Following this connect, Councilmember Duerr will be holding future meetings like this every other month across Ward 2 to engage with residents.

I think our @CityofReno Charter Committee got it right. Elections for City Council vacancies if there will be a lengthy vacancy, appointments for shorter term vacancies. To be discussed today at 12 noon today at the joint meeting with our Charter Committee.
The Reno city council is considering sponsoring an #nvleg bill requiring a special election instead of appointing new members when someone resigns. @NaomiDuerr says it would end the 'constant drumbeat' that appointees are illegitimate. https://t.co/QEFzoQRb4t

In 2018 I requested a South Reno Road study, completed by RTC in 2020. Steamboat Pkwy was one of the most requested projects. This was followed by planning, design, & land acquisition. Now, the hard work pays off! Thank you @RTCWashoe, @CityofReno for following through!
Vice Mayor Duerr, Councilmember Reese, and City Engineer Kerrie Koski joined @RTCWashoe and @qdconstruction today to kick off the Steamboat Parkway Improvement Project, which will widen the road between Marketplace Drive and Veterans Parkway from four lanes to six lanes!

RPD, Dolan Auto Group and Jacobs Entertainment bought about $8,000 worth of gifts and Catholic Charities brought food too. They delivered toys to about 85 kids living in downtown motels. Details:
