Don’t get me wrong, I think Maxwell is an amazing artist with the track record to back it up. But let’s not be disrespectful now.

Was talking music with one of my homeboys and he tried to tell me that Maxwell is over Luther Vandross for him as far as all-time lists go and that might be one of the craziest music takes I’ve heard in the last 4 months.

He also knew that Akademiks and Adin Ross’s fanbase were primarily made up of chronically online losers who will jump on anything that’s anti-woman because they were the only ones waving Pom-Poms while was dissing Rihanna who was 4 NIGGAS removed from him at that point

He dissed his exes over and over again years and years post-relationship which eventually lead to most women who had any sense abandoning his fanbase which is why he started targeting younger and younger audiences post-Scorpion

The suburban Black people do be at the scene of the crime too though. We need higher racial self esteem across the board.

I don’t think I ever finished this album outside of maybe Smuckers and I don’t think I ever will lmao

“They called me weird because I was Black and liked anime growing up” no, they called you weird because you never showered and ran through the halls like Naruto.

There were other people in Odd Future who grew up with similar interests and backgrounds as him who told him he was wilding years ago. That “they called me weird because I was Black and I liked XYZ” excuse y’all use is a cop-out.

The false equivalence y’all throw out on this app his hilarious lmao. Plenty of Black people grow up with “unconventional” hobbies and interests and don’t do stuff like that. I think Tyler is a very creative artist but we gotta be honest about his previous behavior as well.

“Unconventional interests” in regard to Black people would be something like lacrosse or studying geology, not wearing KKK uniforms and making songs about r&pe.
Tyler grew up a hood baby resenting his community. He had unconventional interests & felt those brought outside noise from the Black people around him. That in conjunction with the issues with his father made for some unsavory views. But we aren’t fixed people. He grew & changed.

Like, people were saying anything on Twitter in 2011 and that was crazy even by THOSE standards.

I get that he was trying to be an “edge lord” (still weird) back then but this was crazy to say even during those times.
