The point of the video isn’t to doom-monger. It’s to highlight a simple fact: none of this is inevitable. We built the systems driving us towards the cliff-edge — which means we can redesign them. But we need to wake up, fast.

According to the Doomsday Clock, humanity has never been closer to disaster than we are today. And those in power — political elites, tech bros, military-industrial juggernauts — are flooring the accelerator.

The big risk isn’t that killer robots enslave us, like in the movies. The real danger is that we humans use new tech to invent ever more effective ways to harm each other. And this is already happening today — at terrifying speed.

Today there’s a new race for supremacy across every frontier — economic, technological and military. Rising tensions + accelerating tech = a volatile new era.

These emerging technologies could create a new age of abundance… or unleash horrors we can barely imagine. As the Cold War showed, geopolitical rivalry often triggers a terrifying race to the bottom.

This all changed with nuclear weapons. But nukes are 20th century tech – it’s what lies ahead that should really scare us. AI. Robotics. Gene editing. Quantum computing. Fusion power. Nanotech.

The real danger? Our tech is accelerating exponentially, while our moral conscience crawls forward at a snail’s pace. For most of human history, humans could harm each other – but we couldn't wipe ourselves out.

Throughout history, every major leap in technology has been a double-edged sword. It can transform life for the better… or become a tool for domination and destruction. This is the ‘paradox of progress’.
