One thing hasn't changed since 1935: the key to conservation success is meeting producers one-on-one to develop a conservation plan. In this Dust Bowl era photo, a county agent and farmer plan on a farm in Dewitt County, TX. https://t.co/SA89JLDdC8

Since our founding on April 27, 1935, as the Soil Conservation Service, we've committed to helping people help the land. Today and into the future, we're committed to continuing that legacy by helping farmers, ranchers and forest landowners conserve air, water, soil, and habitat.

These maps show the color of soil at various depths. Soil color can help educate people about what types of soils are where, and why? Soil color helps us understand a landscape’s recent and long-term history, clues about dominant mineralogy, and much more. https://t.co/RjUUagI6pY
