He emphasized the importance of #oilpalm as a model commodity for achieving agro-industrialization objectives. He highlighted the gov't's commitment to supporting farmers through loans to be paid post-harvest and negotiating with banks to provide support to large scale farmers.

The project aims to increase veg. oil production and address rural poverty by involving smallholder farmers in oil crops production. According to the Minister, the initiative is expected to cut down Uganda's expenditure on imported palm oil, which currently stands at $300m. 2/3
