ATTENTION PARENTS: Please don't step on the ice, push or grab an official in rage. On June 26th, this hockey mom was ordered by a judge to stay away from "all non professional game officials". This is a WIN for officials in all sports in Mass. Pass H.1625!.

On Jan 4, 2 officials were assaulted during a HS hockey game in Foxboro. Leah Cashman of Taunton was arraigned in Wrentham District Court on 4 charges and plead Not Guilty; Ordered to stay away from the victims and from all non professional game officials.

For the first time ever, Video Review is in use for today's MIAA Ice Hockey Finals at the TD Garden. THE FIRST GOAL OF THE DAY was reviewed and waved off per NHFS Rule 9, Sec 3, Art 3.L, as the net was knocked off it's moorings prior to the puck crossing the goal line. @MSHCA1.

The MIAA Mass High School Hockey State Tourney Round of 8 is upon us! Win or not, do it with grace and most importantly, enjoy the EXPERIENCE. Officials have worked hard all season for the privilege to make split second decisions in these max pressure moments. Congrats to all!.

Summarizing NFHS Rule 7, Section 9, a legal goal cannot be scored by driving through a goaltender in their crease. A minor penalty may apply. A legal goal can be scored by skating around a goaltender.

The MIAA Round of 32 saw a significant number of games go into overtime periods. This is what hockey is all about! Congratulations to those moving on and to all of our officials for performing under pressure! On to the Round of 16!.

REMINDER - for the MIAA High School State Tournament, per the MIAA. "Only players in uniform, four other team personnel and a licensed athletic trainer shall be permitted to occupy the team bench area". FYI @MSHCA1.

With the MIAA Ice Hockey regular season now in the rear view mirror, we wish the best of luck to everyone in the post season. Round of 32 & 16 games will all use 2 Referees and 1 Linesman. Congratulations to all of our officials selected to work in the State Tournament!.

This past Sat night, a parent followed our officials to the locker room while verbally berating them. We are thankful that the game admin was present and quickly intervened. ESCORTS to/from the ice (police or game admin designee) are necessary! #BenchBadBehavior @MSHCA1 @MIAA033.

Our support goes out to 2 young officials, aged 13 & 14, who were assaulted on the ice by a parent over the weekend in the Seattle area. WARNING: This video is hard to watch. The assailant was arrested. The officials are said to be ok. This needs to STOP.
To the Hockey Community:. This is a parent coming onto the ice and pushing a 13 and 14-year-old referee down to the ice during a rec-league game in Washington. These incidents are becoming more and more the norm. We need to be better. It’s about the kids.

We estimate that well over 90% of available officials in Eastern MA (North Shore to Cape & Islands) are working today. This is the toughest time of the year for officials - as the pressure mounts, so do illnesses and injuries. A few more weeks to go!.
