Thinking back to when my IT teacher sent a note home to my parents saying I should drop the subject due to an obvious lack of talent and interest. Everyone can shine given the right environment with purpose and autonomy. I always choose to believe in the potential of people!.

I always find it endearing that any time I cut the hedges at the front of my house onto the footpath. An older person always stops to ask me about the tools I’m using and to tell me I’m doing a good job.

So apparently @amazon now texts me when a driver is about to deliver to say “if it’s dark please turn on a light”. Sms texts me, not an app notification. Can… can they not just use the time of the day to not send me that text during daylight hours? Also can it be a notification?.

They do definitely exist but have you ever noticed the whole system is setup to rapidly develop/promote junior engineers to senior positions? It keeps the costs down and pushes experienced engineers out or boxes them in somewhere less visible.
can someone actually tell me why there are no software engineers over 40?.
