"My grandmother was a very strong #NativeAmerican elder. When it was gathering season, we would gather roots, plants and berries and she would tell me traditional stories as well as stories about her life. The time I spent with her was magical" #INDIGENOUS.

In 2016, around 2,500 landowners with interests in @quinaultnation were offered $70M by @Interior as part of its Native Lands Buy-Back Program as part of the settlement of the Cobell v. Salazar class-action suit. The land was put into trust for the tribe.

After WWII, Calvin McGhee, a descendant of @PoarchCreek founder Lynn McGhee, began organizing the members in #Alabama and #Florida to pursue land claims and other rights denied them as #NativeAmericans. Under McGhee, the group filed a lawsuit and won!
