Sad to report the death of Dr Fred Gilligan AO OStJ who led the development of medical retrieval in South Australia and a distinguished career at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Fred was a long time member of the Society and its President from 1998 to 2001 & vice president in 2002.

For those at the @aeromedsociety @FlightNurses Aeromed Conf in Adelaide asking about #Ecmo equipment weight, @NETSNSW system is 98kg for stretcher without ECMO (containing built-in power systems, oxygen routing) 116.5kg with ECMO. Water heater is 10kg (free-standing).

NETS telephone numbers have been inaccessible since 7pm because of interruption at a telecom network level causing telephone failures in large parts of Sydney. NETS hotline 1300 36 2500 on temporary diversion while @Telstra solved the problem. @NSWHealth
