I-80 Westbound is CLOSED from I-180 in Lincoln to Pleasant Dale (mm 401-388) because of a vehicle fire. Detour is in place routing westbound traffic to Highway 34. Check 511 for updates.

This afternoon, Troopers will be honored to escort the remains of U.S. Army Pvt. Erwin Schopp from Omaha to Beatrice, where he will be laid to rest alongside family on Friday. This Nebraska hero was only recently identified among the many who died as a POW in the WWII.

All lanes of I-80 between Milford and Lincoln are OPEN. Much of this area remains a construction zone. Please drive with caution. NSP will host a news conference later today to provide details on the incident that led to this road closure.

I-80 Eastbound is now open in this area. Westbound remains closed as crews continue working on scene.
