FAY will be about 10 degrees cooler than Saturday, thanks to a brisk front that moved through the Sandhills. Still, a high of nearly 70 the weekend before Thanksgiving isn't all that bad, is it?

Here's our latest outlook for Thanksgiving Day. We could see a little lingering early-morning rain, but overall we'll have dry weather and increasing sunshine through the day. It'll be a little cool for this time of year, with a northwesterly breeze. #ncwx

Further south, any rainfall totals were a smattering, a few hundredths at most. FAY should be warmer and a bit muggy today, with a high pushing 80. There's another chance of light rain on Saturday as a front approaches, then cooler and dry on Sunday.

A weak energy packet is sliding across northern NC this morning, bringing much-needed rain to the northern Sandhills. Some spots have picked up as much this morning as they have over the rest of November -- which isn't saying much, but it's welcome.

After the weekend warmup, look for temperatures in the Sandhills to return to normal -- perhaps a bit cooler than average by the Thanksgiving weekend.

A weak cold front that pushed south of the Sandhills will hold us in the upper 60s today. There's a chance of patchy fog to the south as well. Friday will see a warming trend as the front pushes north. We're looking at highs in the 70s for FAY this weekend.

There's a slim chance of light rainfall, mainly in the northern Sandhills after midnight. Any rain is welcome ... the region is getting bone dry.
Rain chances will increase late this evening and overnight as an area of low pressure and attendant frontal zone move into the region. The highest chance for showers will be along and north of HWY 64, with amounts averaging 0.10" or less.
