Advocates say not only do governments save money on health-care costs when they provide birth control for free, but the policy improves the quality of life for those who need it.

I’m proud to share @OntarioNDP ’s initiative to expand OHIP by removing financial barriers to prescription contraception. @JennieStevens_ tabled this motion on International Women’s Day, and on November 29, we’ll debate it at Queens Park.

Why would a change in expanding OHIP to include universal, no cost contraception matter to you, your family or the community you serve?

Contraception access is about gender equity, full-stop. When the community comes together we can make meaningful change. That’s why I introduced legislation in March to provide barrier-free access to contraception. BC has done it. Manitoba committed to it. Ontario can, too. 🧵
