High Chief, I think there’s a reason banks are happy taking on the headache of retail banking, which is primarily cheap CASA deposits; to enable the banks provide competitive credit products to merchants at good rates.
This is the layer that will prevail eventually with merchants all around Africa. As for me, I prefer to bank merchants while others do the headache of retail banking. A new era of merchant banking is what can be built by stealth and on top of everything that already exists.
