I've been finding lots of seeds, but not actual tree saplings

I (re)tested an old Depression-era potato growing method where you drop them directly on the surface and just cover with straw...I'm gonna go ahead and say it's effective

I need your plant help! Does anyone know where I can buy an Italian Alder Tree (Alnus cordata) online and have it delivered to Virginia? 🌳

World frog day seems like a good time to mention probably the most underrated stage in the life of an amphibian - the metamorph. These "gremlins" are fringe tree frogs (Cruziohyla craspedopus) that emerged from the water. Once they absorb the tail their terrestrial life begins!

So happy to see Dr. Kolby is still here! We must not abandon this site; we need to flood it with informative and interesting stuff again! Don’t give in to despair!
Happy #WorldFrogDay! Working in the rainforest to learn about and help protect #frogs has always been my passion! They play such critically important roles in the #environment and have the most amazingly diverse colors, shapes, and personalities! 🐸

It's time to turn the news off and remind ourselves that there are still so many good things in the world, despite everything being strange and scary right now.

Just some dry leaves. Move along, nothing to see here... Mimicry and camouflage never fail to amaze me. At least two species of leaf-mimicking katydids are in this photo, showcasing not only the diversity in appearance within their taxonomic group but also within a given species.

Trump just announced at #StateOfTheUnion that, "Our country will be woke no longer!" It really does seem like our country is closing its eyes and going to sleep as the world moves forward past us...

A strong rebuttal from @WWF to the frankly shameful piece of "journalism" via @guardian and Adam Cruise. Well done WWF for standing up to this kind of nonsense https://t.co/03RAv00oiI

This might not look like much right now, but in a few years, our front lawn will be a good forest for my daughter. I’ve planted a couple dozen fruit and nut trees over the past few months. More to come! 🌿
