Thunderbolts* (2025).I've been away from Marvel movies for a while, but this sequence alone made me wonder what else I've been missing.

Weapons was good, but very dark, as in dimly lit. Did anyone else feel this way? I could feel myself really straining to see during those dark scenes; perhaps intentional? Or maybe my cineplex is trying to extend the lifespan of their projector bulbs?🤷‍♂️

“One of these things is not like the others.”. Sweet Revenge was fun and better than I expected. But Jason needs to bulk up before his return to the big screen.

Dick Tracy (1990).August 13: Blue building or structure.Production design was restricted to a limited color palette, leaning heavily on red, green, yellow, and blue, evoking the aesthetic of comic. Such a gorgeous film. #Bales2025FilmChallenge

I love how Xbox allows you to record gameplay video directly to an external USB drive. Not PlayStation; gotta record to internal storage then copy video files to a FAT32-formatted USB drive. Both consoles could benefit from a network transfer option for moving files to a PC.

Top Gun (1986).August 8: Favorite Opening Scene.Hard to pick, but this is one of my most rewatched opening scenes. Playing the VHS through my dad's monster stereo speakers was absolutely thrilling. Cranking the volume made the windows rattle. #Bales2025FilmChallenge

According to retired Los Angeles police detective William Michael Cahill Sr. (as related to King Vidor in 1967) the investigation into Taylor’s murder was making progress. But less than a week in they “got the word to lay off.” The 1922 homicide remains unsolved.

Sierra (1950).If you like Burl Ives (and who doesn’t?) seek out this fun, mostly forgotten western. Ives plays a guitar-playing bard of sorts, singing his way through the film. He even puts a deputy to sleep with the soothing lullaby, ‘Drift Along.’
