After a particularly stressful day of classes, I decided to take the notes I’ve collected from my 3rd grade students so far & post them on my closet door. Looking at each of these completely turned my mood around. I can’t wait to see each of their smiling faces in the morning. 💕

If you haven’t already, change your mindset. You don’t HAVE to go to school or work today. You GET to go to school or work — and as educators, that is the greatest honor and privilege! #positivethinking

Don't talk about quality of work when providing feedback. Address decisions students have made and their impact. Point & describe. @rickwormeli2 #ALAMLE

Popcorn pops at different times when it is ready. It is important to recognize that students also “pop” at different times in every content area! #acgal

Failure IS an option! Students learn from failure. When students fail the best response is, “Let’s try again”! Recovering from failure teaches more than being labeled for failure ever could teach. @rickwormeli2 #ACGAL

Correcting students’ mistakes for them doesn’t facilitate learning. Give students the opportunity to correct their own mistakes. Check out this strategy — a video shared at #ACGAL by Rick Wormeli https://t.co/p86tNnYuuS

Thank you @UA_Educator for giving us the opportunity to attend #ACGAL ! Like sponges, we are absorbing everything @RickWormeli says. Such good information to apply in our future classrooms. @miss_mlong

The average for each of these students is a score of 70. Averaging distorts the truth. (Rick Wormeli) #ACGAL
