Today was the last CryptoCrackers session for our S6 pupils before they go off on study leave. A huge thank you to the Codecracking Catz + Disha for being fantastic ambassadors, and to Katie in particular for being a brilliant club captain👩✈️We’ll miss you all!

2025 - a Mathematical Marvel! 1. 2025 itself is a square, 45 x 45 = 2025 2. It's the product of two squares, 9² x 5² = 2025 3. It is the sum of three squares, 40²+ 20²+5²= 2025 4. It's the sum of cubes from 1 to 9, 1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³= 2025.

S1 LOVED tackling the @dressCodeHQ advent calendar. ‘More epic than a chocolate calendar’ apparently! I’d have to agree.

S2 relay winners from today. Well done Harris, Jack and (photo shy) Cairn. It was a close run thing but the boys showed great team work and knowledge of the S2 course so far.

Extended this task today to allow the rest of the class to take part. My ‘Principal Assessors’ each supported a partner to mark and provide written feedback on common prelim errors.Loved hearing their discussions. Thanks @bones_carmel for the inspiration!
Prelim review Ms Thomson’s S4 so the mega white boards are out and she’s ‘mocked up’ a paper (laid a minefield as Mr Moon would say) full of opportunities to find & fix based on THEIR gaps 🙌🏻❤️ @MearnsCastleHT @MearnsCastleHS @MCHSMathsDept @mrstewart314 @gtcs 🏴 @osirisedu #oti
