Today, 2 June 2025, marks 60 years since the General Teaching Council for Scotland became the first teaching council in the world. Watch Dr Pauline Stephen discuss the anniversary.

Teachers who achieved the Standard for Headship have been celebrated at the GTC Scotland offices in Edinburgh today. Over 200 teachers from across Scotland have gained the award this year.
