Tues we awarded #SHEF Teacher Excellence Grants. In the past, we had our entire SHEF board, balloons, & a surprise announcement in front of students. This year it was different but still exciting! Congrats to Jessica Dome & Jolene Rutledge @WSMSStallions!

We got our girl STEM power on today and made an elevator for her dollhouse. She asked if we could add lights next so she may be getting some @BrownDogGadgets for her birthday!

I love having Ss take their projects out of the classroom & into the school. The pride they displayed today as other students, the nurse, the librarian and custodian asked about their projects made my heart burst. #STEM

My 8th graders have been building RC cars. Finally got the steering mechanism to work! Next up designing and 3D printing the body. My favorite question with #STEM projects: When is this due? Answer: When it works!

Learning about compressive and tensile forces this week. Here the Ss are modeling cable stayed bridges. None wanted to take my suggestion it would be an AWESOME Halloween costume. Let it be known I’ll give out extra candy to #STEM themed trick-or-treater!
