I could not agree more! Creating space for educators to be in the community while supporting each other in challenging situations is a clear way to retain educators of color! #PeerMentor #TeachPlusDiversity

A4: My district has started an affinity group inviting staff who identify as people of color. The idea is to create a safe space for staff members in the district who experience inequity, and racism, or who are advocates for students of color @teachplusMA #TeachPlusDiversity

Educators of color are often asked to volunteer their time to support the unmet needs of our system and are often pigeonholed into roles or tasks around DEI because others will not make the time or others are not “comfortable with being uncomfortable” #Burnout #TeachPlusDiversity
A3: A challenge that educators of color face with staying in the profession is burnout. Many of us are experiencing burnout because of the many “hats” that are imposed on us outside of teaching. Many of those hats are because of our racial identity. #TeachPlusDiversity

Could not be more true, the process to and through licensure is quite intimidating with limited access for those from diverse backgrounds. #TeachPlusDiversity
Agree! Thats why we need to push for more alternate means of licensure as well as just getting a more diverse population of adults into schools and making School less intimidating or unwelcoming to POC @teachplusMA #TeachPlusDiversity
