Small life update: Got myself a small place in an area I want to live. Changed jobs and now manage other engineers. Kept my head above water in a global pandemic. TL;DR: A 2 year twitter hiatus is an excellent idea highly recommend.

A cool* feature of the @SamsungAU S8, running the most recent 1st of July 2019 patch, is the bit where you can't actually save any updates to a static configuration for a WiFi network. You have to forget the network and re-enter all the details. * Annoying. Very annoying.

History. You have “invented” the discipline of History. How is this a real article rather than a parody of “what existing thing have STEM bros ‘invented’ today?”
Why did the Industrial Revolution start when it did? Why did Silicon Valley happen in California rather than Japan or Boston? Human progress is understudied, and @patrickc and @tylercowen want to change that.
