After a good conference in Brno, moving on to the 4th Canadian glycomics symposium in Edmonton #CGS2024. Venue, weather and talks so far are great!

After 24 hours of traveling (not including transit time 🙄), finally arrived in Brno for the 2024 MSB conference. Pretty strong #glycotime turn out in the talks for a non-glyco focused conference that glycofolks can consider next time. https://t.co/hzekyTwg4a

A fancy piece of work! Was not aware that glycans can affect bacterial quorum sensing. Thread's a pretty quick summary

So happy to share! We designed from scratch barrels with 8 beta-strands that fold in lipid membranes. To succeed, we had to extensively use negative design and destabilize the beta-strands to maintain the proteins unfolded in water.

It's weird not to be part of iGem this year, after a 6 years of Macquarie_Australia... but from my brief browse of the finalist wikis, I hope Flavoflow, Vilnus-Lithuania wins! Lateral flow devices, edible vaccines, and fish health, who would have thought! #iGEM2020

Glycosylation is complicated, diverse and important
An important and timely review from @hirenj, H. Clausen and colleagues now live on @NatRevMCB of the major advances in quantitative transcriptomics, proteomics, in silico models and gene editing now opening new ways to explore protein glycosylation and glycosylation processes⬇️
