Guys I did it. I finally reached the meme scene--
Hey, wait a minute! Hold on! You telling me this whole time it's actually been 'fine day' and not 'Friday'?!?
#Kakuranger
Still hate New Powers. No, they did not add to the lore of the show. Adding lore would have been telling us these were the [blank] Rangers from the planet Hoopajuub. Not, "These new powers are sweet!!!"
Power Rangers will never return to the quality it had during the late Saban to early Disney run because the environment and circumstances that allowed those type of seasons to be made do not and will not ever exist again.
To understand Power Rangers...
You have to watch
145 episodes of Mighty Morphin
10 episodes of Alien Rangers
50 episodes of Zeo
45 episodes of Turbo
43 episodes of In Space
45 episodes of Lost Galaxy
40 episodes of Lightspeed Rescue
40 episodes of Time Force
40 episodes of Wild…
MAJOR MAJOR props for recreating one of the Ch'i Power attacks. So many modern Dairanger tributes focus on either on the weapons or martial arts in general.

This years marks the anniversaries of:
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S2 - 30th Anniversary
- Power Rangers Lost Galaxy - 25th Anniversary
- Power Rangers Dino Thunder -20th Anniversary
- Power Rangers RPM - 15th Anniversary
- Power Rangers Super Megaforce - 10th Anniversary
-…
You know, there's something hilarious ironic to me back in the day how fans who DESPISE the Disney era of Power Rangers acted like Dragon Knight was so much better than all those seasons combined only for it's final battle to basically be the Ninja Storm/Dino Thunder/Jungle Fury…
Gotta give the suit actors props for how they handled the unmorph roll call. These guys have been doing these poses for a whole year yet when it came time to do the suitless version, they went about it as if this was human actors trying to do them, it's a nice touch.
#Zenkaiger
Kids in 2000 were so dumb for not wanting a Supertrain Megazord, I wanna build a time machine, travel back in time, and smack them all in the back of their heads
#GoGoV
Finally the big group transformation scene and rollcall, plus the battle featuring the series regulars getting involved in the action! That's how I like my VS fights.
#GoGoVVsGingaman
Oh you have no idea how happy this makes me. Always felt it was a shame the nature of their relationship was left hanging at the end of the series and the Returns movie didn't do anything to confirm or deny it, so I'm glad it's concrete canon
#KingOhger
Geki's are a homage to Bruce Lee's jumpsuit and fit the martial arts theme. Donbrothers fits the Momotaro theme. Battle Fever's fit the comic book-y superhero look and incorporate the different countries motif. They invoke SOMETHING!
@ToQ_Ridergou
"All I and many people want is that: inspired aesthetics"
Because when I think inspired, I think track suits, fucking with Photoshop and bootleg Kamen Rider .-.
I thought this was a nice detail
@pisces__88
pointed out to me once how the All Blue Gokai Change has the core 5 changing into blue rangers their suit actors previously performed as. It's a nice touch.
#Gokaiger
Reading the preview for the second issue of the Zero-One comic. Fuwa you are legit the LAST person who should be telling anyone they need a clear mind and discipline.
I remember thinking how lame and underwhelming the Kira and Tori fight part was in Thunderstorm, so imagine my surprise learning it was actually a recreated bit from Aba vs Hurri
Fun fact: Usopp's nose is actually a double reference, obviously to Pinocchio but also to a folk saying in Japan where if someone gets a huge ego or is overly confident it's called "becoming a tengu" and in manga/anime it's signified by suddenly getting a long nose!
Finished
#Gingaman
yesterday. Gingaman's one of those shows where... I wouldn't call divisive but always had a mixed bag reception within the fandom. Back in the 2000s, folks whenever talking about Gingaman often treated it like it was the worst television show Toei ever produce
This whole splitting seasons across two-three years really messes with my chronologically. I have to remind myself we only had 4 teams in Neo-Saban despite it lasting 8 years
@Mainstreamlive
I also think because Kamen Rider and Sentai, despite being child shows, are still viewed as legitimate superhero franchises whereas Power Rangers is just seen a kids show you're expected to grow out of/being little Timmy's first superhero until he gets into DC/Marvel
Teruaki Sugihara directed this episode and the real burning sword in Saber was also directed by him. Wish more people know him as one of the great directors rather than only Sakamoto and Kamihoriuchi when thinking about great episode directing.
Man, Goro truly was the last of his kind, wasn't he? The last large and in-charge, cool-headed, really dependable leader Red. A real professional. We're pretty much stuck with slackers, hot heads, and rookie newbs from here on out.
#Ohranger
To this day, I'm still amazed the Kakuranger suits were given the OK to lead a 50 episode toy-driven show. Cuz these suits are so beautifully simplistic and featureless.
#Kakuranger
Y'know it's funny look back when Shout announce they were releasing Kuuga with the Grongi speech translated everybody was like, "No, it needs to be untranslated! It adds to the mystery! They could be discussing plot points and you wouldn't know!" Then you actually see the Grongi…
The death of Moltor was one of the coldest (pun completely intended) ones in Power Rangers history. And it's such a crime it's never brought up due to how unpopular Overdrive is.
The reveal of Basco's true form was one of those you had to be there moments. We didn't have magazine scans to spoil it so it came off as a genuine surprise.
Also, to remember, this was Kosuke Asai's first major suit acting role.
#Gokaiger
Still see "Kamen Rider isn't for little kids, it's for preteens/teens & young adults" Nah, it's still for kids. It airs in the same kids block as Pretty Cure* and Super Sentai, their summer movies premiere at the same time, and they do a joint concert, it's just Rider has enough
This year marks the anniversaries of:
MMPR S1 - 30th Anniversary
Power Rangers in Space - 25th Anniversary
Ninja Storm - 20th Anniversary
Jungle Fury - 15th Anniversary
Megaforce - 10th Anniversary
Super Ninja Steel - 5th Anniversary
Something I always liked about Junji Yamaoka's action scenes was how he would film the whole team fighting in one shot at the same time, as well as run in and pan around to see all the different battles taking place. These are just two examples.
If I were to improve Kamen Rider, it wouldn't be to tone down the gimmicks or go back to the Showa format, I mean, that's pretty much impossible at this point, but bring back one of the fundamentals of the franchise: Being a Kamen Rider... fucking sucks, man.
