Scientists have found #microplastic pollution in krill and salps from Antarctica's Southern Ocean ๐Ÿฆ Krill and salps are just the start of the chain: that plastic transfers up as food to whales, penguins, seals and seabirds. Here's what our team found ๐Ÿ‘‡ https://t.co/W2XD1gVoQg

As a crab grows, it eventually it needs a bigger shell. The crabs arrange themselves into size order to exchange homes. When the biggest crab moves home, each crab moves into the shell ahead of it. Edited from @bbcearth @YouTube

Deepstaria is a genus of jellyfish with thin, sheet-like bodies. It uses its whole body to catch prey, enveloping victims and then cinching itself shut. What looks like an enchanting glowing heart is actually a parasitic red isopod living inside the bell. From @nautiluslive

Love @Join_ZOE info on Omega oil. We know farmed salmon are bad for the environment, ZOE say it's bad for us too. However, we'd love ZOE to rethink krill. Humans don't need krill but whales do - the ocean environment is struggling. Please support the ocean & say no to krill.

A whale carcass creates excitement and enthusiasm from the @nautiluslive team. When a whale dies, it supports a succession of marine biological communities. Whale fall provides a concentrated food source or deep sea organisms. @nautiluslive from 2019 in Monterey Bay

Bewildering amount of people attacking this kind of post. Perhaps itโ€™s easier to believe in a flat earth and the tooth fairy? In the real world we have to face the truth and then deal with consequences. Fear has a lot of hiding places filled with excuses. Reality does not.
