Writer of Yesterday's Kisses Are Still On My Lips, a not-yet produced screenplay rejected by every shop in town. "Where's the dramatic arc?" Um, it's a comedy.

THE FAT BLACK PUSSYCAT (63) Black cat in Greenwich Village always seems to be present whenever a psycho killer strikes. Victims incl. beatniks--poets, artists, opiate users--while the killer may be suffering from repressed homosexual tendencies. Worthless, wooden low-budget junk.

DANCING AT THE BLUE IGUANA (00) Good performances by Hannah, Oh and Tilly almost save this sleazy (but "introspective"!) character-study set in & around a strip club. Shapeless, and with many embarrassing or awkward moments, tho there are sad, thoughtful & intriguing passages.

Wilma: "What's that say under her picture?" Fred: "Gina Loadabricks: destined to become a great actress." Wilma: "I've seen her last few pictures, I don't think she's such a great actress." Fred: "Well, she's a star now, she doesn't have to act."

WONDER WHEEL (17) Coney Island waitress circa 1950, married to a drunk on the wagon whose daughter is hiding out from gangsters, flirts w/handsome young lifeguard. After too-cute start, drama from writ-dir Allen finds its rhythm. Winslet, Timberlake, Belushi all excellent.

THE ELEVATOR (TV-74) Workers in a high-rise office building use the passenger elevator to move a 700lb. safe, which jostles the elevator car's moorings. TV "disaster movie"; no threat to Irwin Allen, but more plot-complicated and character-oriented than it probably needed to be.

GO NAKED IN THE WORLD (61) Faux-Greek family soap opera via novel has soldier Franciosa in love w/glamorous Lollobrigida, unaware she's a call-girl (she doesn't charge him for sex--maybe that's what throws him off!). Might rate a guilty pleasure were it not for all the shouting.

THREE HOURS TO KILL (54) Terrific tumbleweed revenge story about a cowboy accused of murder, hiding out in the desert before going back to clear his name. Andrews never an animated actor, but he's just right here. Nice dir, from Werker, good supporting cast incl. Reed and Jones.

FLIPSIDE (23) "It's not hoarding if all your shit is awesome." Lured out to CA, documentary filmmaker Chris Wilcha ends up doing TV commercials but returns tentatively to the films he had been working on, endeavors left by the wayside. Fascinating, funny, poignant little gem.
