An MPD Officer is in the hospital after being run over by a suspect at Hwy 74/Secrest Ave​. during a pursuit earlier. The officer has injuries to his leg, but is expected to be ok. The pursuit ended in Marshville where the suspect shot himself. The suspect was airlifted.

Due to the age of the juvenile, he will face charges through the Department of Juvenile Justice and his identity can’t be released. Those charges include possession of a handgun by a minor, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession with the intent to sell or deliver marijuana.

On 06/21/23 two juveniles posted a live video in Willow Glen Apartments exposing a concealed firearm. The info given to detectives was that a shooting was imminent. Monroe Police VCTF Unit interrupted the live feed, detained the juvenile and seized and secured the firearm.
